The Gunnison County Metropolitan Recreation District (MetRec) faces numerous challenges affecting our ability to continue serving over-the-air TV. Over the years we have been surveying the community about MetRec TV viewership.
We conducted surveys in 2016 and 2020 where the main focus was determining the number of households using our over-the-air TV service. Our main goal for this survey is to add a third, longitudinal data point, for household viewership using similar survey methods.
At the MetRec November 2024 Regular Board Meeting, The Board approved entering Phase 1 of the TV Translator Operations Policy. The goals of Phase 1 include conducting a district-wide survey to determine the number of households currently using MetRec TV, calculating the estimated cost to continue over-the-air TV, and calculating the cost to discontinue over-the-air TV.
We have a TV Operations Public Work Session scheduled in Gunnison on March 26 at 5:00 pm, location to be determined. At the Public Work Session MetRec will present the survey results and the estimated cost to continue and discontinue TV.
Thank you for your interest in taking this brief survey. Our primary goal is to determine how many households utilize MetRec’s over-the-air TV service and your response helps.
